Terms of Use
The short version
These are the terms most likely to affect you. The full terms below are the ones that apply.
- Linktwos is a new product from an early-stage company. It will change, and at times it may not work or may be unavailable (section 3).
- Linktwos uses AI. AI makes mistakes, so check anything important before you rely on it (section 10).
- We do not vet other users and we cannot promise any result from a match. Use your own judgement (section 11).
- Event organisers run their own events. We supply the networking tools (section 12).
- Our responsibility to you is limited (section 17).
- You are responsible for losses you cause us by breaking these terms. For business users there is no financial limit on that responsibility (section 18).
1. About these terms
These terms apply to the Linktwos mobile and web applications (the "App") and the website linktwos.com. Together we call them the "Service". The Service is provided by PHM Ltd, trading as Linktwos, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 16960300, with its registered office at Oakwood, Hook Heath Road, Woking, England, GU22 0LE ("we", "us", "our").
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal data.
Your contract with us starts when you create your account. We do not keep a separate copy of these terms for each user, so save or print a copy for your records.
If you use the Service for a company or other organisation, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms for it. In that case "you" means both you and the organisation.
Some sections treat business users and consumers differently:
- You are a business user if you use the Service wholly or mainly for your trade, business, craft or profession, or on behalf of an organisation. Event organisers are always business users.
- You are a consumer if you are an individual using the Service wholly or mainly for purposes outside your trade, business, craft or profession.
You can contact us at dan@linktwos.com.
2. What Linktwos is
Linktwos is a professional networking service. It connects people based on what they are looking for and what they can offer. The Service includes:
- Everyday matching. You tell the App what you need and what you offer. The App suggests people who fit, and an introduction is made when both people have agreed to it.
- Linktwos at events. Event organisers can use Linktwos at their conferences, expos and other events. If you join an event in the App, you can say what you are looking for at that event, see the attendees the App thinks are most relevant to you, check in and message other attendees.
- Profile and contact tools. You can build a profile by uploading a CV, filling it in yourself or talking to the in-app assistant. You can also message your connections, search your contacts and keep a list of the things you are looking for.
Linktwos is a tool for finding and contacting people. We are not a recruiter, an employment agency, a broker or an investment adviser. We are not a party to anything you agree with another user or with an event organiser.
3. Linktwos is an early-stage service
Linktwos is a new product from an early-stage company, and we are still building and testing it. That means:
- features may change, be limited or be removed, and some may be released as beta or test features;
- the Service may contain bugs, run slowly or be unavailable at times, and we do not promise any level of availability;
- matching depends on who else is using Linktwos, so at any given time there may be few suitable matches for you, or none;
- content and data may occasionally be lost or reset, so keep your own copy of anything important, such as your CV;
- we may stop providing any part of the Service, or the whole Service.
If we close the whole Service, we will give you reasonable notice where we can. If we remove a paid feature during a period you have already paid for, you are entitled to a refund for the unused part of that period.
To use the App you need a compatible device, a supported version of its operating system and an internet connection. Keep the App up to date. We may stop supporting older versions, and we are not responsible for problems you could have avoided by installing an update we made available.
4. Who can use Linktwos
Linktwos is for genuine professional networking: finding and offering work, advice, partnerships, investment, collaboration and similar professional connections. You can use it in these ways:
- As an individual. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract.
- For an organisation. A company, society or other organisation can use Linktwos through someone who is authorised to act for it.
- As an event organiser. You can use Linktwos for your event as set out in section 12. The person who sets up the event must be authorised to act for the organiser.
- As an event attendee. You can join an event in the App where the organiser has invited you or opened the event to you. You need an account to do this and these terms apply to you.
Every person who uses Linktwos must be at least 18. That includes anyone using it for an organisation and anyone attending an event.
We may ask you to show that you are 18 or over, and we will remove any account we believe belongs to someone under 18.
You may not use the Service if we have previously removed your account for breaking these terms.
5. Your account
You need an account to use the App. The same account covers everyday matching and any event you join, so you do not need a new one for each event.
- Give accurate information about yourself and keep it up to date.
- Use your own identity. Do not impersonate another person or organisation.
- Have one personal account. Do not create accounts for other people without their permission, and do not share, sell or transfer your account.
- If you set up an account or an event for an organisation, you must be authorised to do so. The organisation is responsible for everyone it allows to use that account.
- Keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- Tell us straight away at dan@linktwos.com if you think someone else has used your account.
6. Community rules
Linktwos works when people are honest and treat each other well. We expect you to:
- Be honest. Everything on your profile must be true and must be yours: your name, photo, role, experience, qualifications, skills and what you say you are looking for or can offer. Do not invent or exaggerate experience, use someone else's CV or photo or create a fake profile.
- Be respectful. Treat every user politely and professionally, online and in person, whether or not you want to work with them. If someone says no or does not reply, leave it there.
- Do what you say you will. Reply to introductions where you can. Turn up to meetings you arrange, or cancel in good time.
Linktwos has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour. You must not post, send or share anything, in your profile, messages, event chats or anywhere else in the Service, that:
- harasses, bullies, threatens or intimidates anyone;
- is hateful or discriminatory, including on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or age;
- is sexual, sexually suggestive or seeks romantic or sexual contact;
- is violent, graphic or encourages self-harm;
- is spam, unsolicited bulk promotion, a scam or a pyramid or get-rich-quick scheme;
- is false or misleading about who you are or what you offer;
- infringes anyone else's intellectual property or privacy, including sharing another person's personal information without their permission; or
- is otherwise illegal, or promotes illegal activity.
You must also not:
- try to get around a block or a suspension;
- scrape, copy or collect other users' data, or use it to build contact lists or send marketing they have not asked for;
- use automated tools to create accounts or send messages;
- copy, modify or reverse engineer the App, except where the law says you can;
- use the Service, or anything taken from it, to build a competing product or to train AI models;
- upload viruses or other harmful code, or interfere with the security or operation of the Service.
Other users' information. You will see personal information about other users, such as their profiles, CVs and messages. Use it only to network with them through Linktwos. If you keep or use it for your work or business, you are responsible for complying with data protection law.
7. Reporting, blocking and illegal content
You can block or report any user from their profile or from a conversation. Blocking stops that person contacting you and removes them from your matches. Reporting sends the account to us for review.
We review reports within 24 hours. Where content or behaviour breaks these terms, we will remove the content and may suspend or permanently remove the account responsible. The reported user is not told who reported them.
To review a report, investigate a suspected breach of these terms or meet a legal duty, we may look at the content involved, including messages. We may keep that content and share it with the police, regulators or others where the law requires or allows it. Our Privacy Policy explains more.
How we protect you from illegal content. Illegal content is not allowed on Linktwos. That covers terrorism content, child sexual exploitation and abuse content, and any other content that it is a criminal offence to post or share, such as fraud, threats and harassment. We deal with all of it through the reporting and blocking tools above, review by our team, removal of content, suspension or removal of accounts and, where appropriate, reports to the police or other authorities.
Complaints. You can complain to us at dan@linktwos.com if you think content on Linktwos is illegal or breaks these terms, if you think we have wrongly removed your content or restricted or closed your account, or if you think we are not meeting our online safety duties. Tell us what happened and we will look into it and reply to you.
If we get it wrong. If we remove your content, or suspend or close your account, in a way that breaks these terms, you have the right to bring a claim against us for breach of contract.
8. Your content
You own the content you add to Linktwos, such as your profile, CV, messages and what you tell the in-app assistant. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process, display and transmit that content only as needed to run the Service, keep it secure and fix and improve it. For example, we use it to build your profile, find and suggest matches, deliver your messages and show your profile to people you are matched or connected with or who are at the same event as you. Some of this is done with AI tools that other companies provide to us (see section 10). This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where we need to keep data for the reasons set out in our Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for your content. You must have the right to share it and it must be accurate. That includes everything in a CV you upload and anything the App adds to your profile from it.
We may remove or restrict any content that we reasonably believe breaks these terms or the law.
If you send us ideas or feedback about Linktwos, we may use them freely without owing you anything.
9. Our content
We own or license all rights in the Service, including the software, the matching system, the design and the Linktwos name and logo. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the Service for as long as you have an account and keep to these terms. No other rights in the Service pass to you, and you may not use our name or logo without our written permission.
10. AI in Linktwos
Linktwos uses artificial intelligence to do some of its work. AI reads your CV to build your profile, runs the in-app assistant, chooses and ranks the people suggested to you and writes the reasons given for an introduction. Some of this is provided by other companies that process your content for us. Our Privacy Policy explains more.
AI makes mistakes. It can misread a CV, describe you or someone else inaccurately, suggest a poor match, miss a good one or give an answer that is wrong, incomplete or out of date. We do not promise that anything produced by AI in the Service is accurate.
Because of that:
- check your profile after the App builds or updates it and correct anything that is wrong. Once something is on your profile, you are responsible for it;
- treat what the in-app assistant tells you as a starting point. It is not legal, financial, investment, tax, careers or other professional advice;
- check anything that matters for yourself before you act on it, and do not use AI output as your only reason for an important decision such as hiring someone, investing or sharing confidential information;
- do not give the assistant information you would not want processed in this way.
How matching works. Matching is automated. Suggestions are based on things like what you say you need and offer, your profile and your activity in the App, including how reliably you reply. If you regularly leave introductions or messages unanswered, the App may suggest you to fewer people. At an event, suggestions are drawn only from the people who have joined that event in the App.
We are not responsible for loss caused by relying on AI output without checking it. Section 17 sets out the limits on this.
11. Matches, introductions and other users
Suggestions are recommendations only. We do not check the identity, qualifications, experience, finances or claims of users and we do not carry out background checks. We do not endorse any user, and we do not guarantee that any match, introduction, meeting or connection will lead to work, investment or any other outcome. Paid plans give you more connections and skips each day. They do not guarantee more matches or better ones.
Any arrangement you make with another user is between the two of you. We are not a party to it and we are not responsible for how it turns out. If you have a dispute with another user, you must resolve it with them directly.
Do your own checks before you rely on another user. That matters most before you hire or work for someone, invest or accept investment, send money, sign a contract or share confidential information. Take professional advice where you need it.
Messages on Linktwos are not covered by any confidentiality agreement unless you and the other user make one. Do not share trade secrets or other confidential information that you need protected.
Linktwos does not arrange investments and does not check or approve anything a user says about an investment. Nothing on Linktwos is financial advice or a recommendation from us to invest. If you use Linktwos to raise or offer investment, you are responsible for following the laws that apply to you, including the rules on financial promotions.
Use your own judgement before sharing personal information or meeting someone in person. Meet in public places, tell someone where you are going and report anyone who behaves inappropriately. You are responsible for your own safety and conduct when you meet other users.
12. Events
Who runs the event. Events on Linktwos are run by independent organisers who use our tools under their own agreement with us, unless we tell you that we are hosting the event ourselves. The organiser is responsible for its event. That includes the content and programme, the venue, health and safety, accessibility, tickets, payments, refunds, changes and cancellations. We are not the organiser, the venue or the ticket seller. The organiser's own terms and the venue's rules apply to you when you attend.
What we provide. We provide the tools that let attendees join an event in the App, check in, see suggested people to meet and message each other. We do not promise that any particular person will attend, that a suggested attendee will agree to meet you or turn up to a meeting you arrange, or that the attendee list in the App is complete.
What other people see. When you join an event in the App, your profile and what you say you are looking for can be seen by other attendees of that event. The organiser can see that you have joined and checked in. Our Privacy Policy explains how event data is handled.
Attending. You attend events at your own risk and you are responsible for your own conduct, travel, belongings and safety. The community rules in section 6 apply to event chats and to how you behave towards other users you meet through Linktwos.
Age limits. Organisers and venues can set their own age limits. Having a Linktwos account does not give you a right to attend an event.
Matching inside an organiser's app. Some organisers may offer Linktwos matching inside their own event app. The organiser's terms and privacy policy apply to that app.
If you are an organiser. Your written agreement with us governs your use of Linktwos for your event and takes priority over these terms where the two conflict. If you use Linktwos for an event without a written agreement, these terms apply to you as a business user. In either case you are responsible for your event and your attendees, and you confirm that you are allowed to share with us any attendee information you give us.
Events we host. If we host an event ourselves, we will say so clearly and publish separate terms for it.
13. Subscriptions
Linktwos is free to use, with optional paid subscriptions that unlock more connections and skips each day. Subscriptions are bought through Apple's App Store:
- Prices and the length of each subscription period are shown in the App before you buy. Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings. If you cancel, you keep your plan until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Where a free trial is offered, any unused part of the trial ends when you buy a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies.
- We may change our prices. A new price applies from your next renewal and you will be told about it beforehand.
Your right to change your mind. If you are a consumer in the UK, you have a legal right to cancel a subscription within 14 days of buying it, without giving a reason. Because subscriptions are bought through Apple, you use this right by asking Apple for a refund in your App Store account or at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple's terms explain how the right applies once you have started using a subscription.
14. The App Store
If you downloaded the App from Apple's App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. These terms are between you and PHM Ltd, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content, and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it.
- If the App fails to meet any warranty that applies to it, you can tell Apple and Apple will refund the price you paid for the App, if any. Apple has no other warranty obligation for the App.
- As between us and Apple, we are responsible for dealing with any claim about the App. That includes product liability claims, claims that the App does not meet a legal requirement, consumer protection and privacy claims, and claims that the App infringes someone else's intellectual property.
- You confirm that you are not in a country that is subject to a US Government embargo or that the US Government has designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
15. Third-party services
The Service relies on and may link to services run by other companies, such as Apple, our hosting and AI providers and any website you reach through a link in the App. We do not control them and we are not responsible for their content, their availability or how they handle your data. Your use of them is covered by their own terms.
16. Ending or suspending your account
You can delete your account at any time in the App (Settings, then Delete account). This permanently deletes your account and content as described in our Privacy Policy. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought through Apple. You need to cancel that in your App Store account settings.
We may suspend, restrict or close your account, with or without notice, if you break these terms or if we reasonably believe your use puts other users, us or the Service at risk. If you think we have made the wrong decision, you can ask us to review it by emailing dan@linktwos.com.
The sections of these terms that are meant to continue after your account ends will do so, including sections 17, 18, 21 and 22.
17. Our responsibility to you
Please read this section carefully. It limits what you can claim from us.
What we do not limit. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded under the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your legal rights. Those include your rights where digital content you have paid for is faulty or not as described, and your right to a repair or compensation if digital content we supply damages your device or other digital content because we did not use reasonable care and skill. Citizens Advice can tell you more about your rights.
What we are not responsible for. We provide the Service with reasonable care and skill. Subject to the paragraph above, we are not responsible for:
- the actions, content, claims or conduct of other users, online or in person;
- any event we are not hosting, its organiser or its venue, or anything that happens at the event or on the way to or from it;
- any arrangement, payment, investment, job or deal between you and another user, or how it turns out;
- loss caused by relying on AI output, a match or a suggestion without checking it yourself;
- the Service being interrupted, delayed or unavailable, or features being changed or removed;
- loss of content or data that you could have kept your own copy of;
- services provided by other companies, including Apple and your network or device provider;
- events outside our reasonable control (section 19);
- loss you could have avoided by following these terms or our reasonable instructions.
If you are a business user:
- the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", and all warranties, conditions and other terms implied by law are excluded as far as the law allows;
- we are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business, contracts, opportunity, goodwill or anticipated savings, for loss or corruption of data, or for any indirect or consequential loss;
- our total liability to you for all claims connected with the Service, whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise, is limited to the greater of £100 and the total you paid us for the Service in the 2 months before the claim arose;
- you must tell us about a claim within 30 days of becoming aware of it, or you lose the right to bring it.
If you are a consumer:
- we provide the Service for your own use as an individual, and we are not liable for business losses such as lost profit, lost business, business interruption or lost business opportunity;
- we are only responsible for loss that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. Loss is foreseeable if it is obvious that it will happen, or if both of us knew it might happen when you accepted these terms;
- our total liability to you for all claims connected with the Service is limited to the greater of £100 and the total you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the claim arose.
18. Your responsibility to us
If you are a business user, you will indemnify us. That means you will cover in full all losses, damages, fines, costs and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, that we or our directors, staff and contractors suffer because of:
- your breach of these terms or of any law;
- your content, including any claim that it infringes someone else's rights or is inaccurate or misleading;
- your dealings with other users, including any dispute between you and another user;
- any event you organise, host or promote through Linktwos, including any claim by an attendee;
- your misuse of the Service.
There is no financial limit on this responsibility. We will tell you about any claim we want you to cover and we will take reasonable steps to keep our losses down.
If you are a consumer and you break these terms or the law in your use of the Service, you are responsible for the loss this causes us where that loss was a foreseeable result. For example, if another person brings a claim against us because of something you posted or did on Linktwos, you will be responsible for our reasonable costs of dealing with it and for any compensation we have to pay. We will take reasonable steps to keep those losses down.
19. Events outside our control
We are not in breach of these terms and we are not liable for any failure or delay caused by something outside our reasonable control. Examples include internet, hosting or app store outages, failures of the AI and other providers we rely on, cyber attacks, power failures, severe weather, strikes and government action.
20. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example when we add features, when the law changes or as the business grows. If we make a significant change, we will tell you in the App or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree to a change, you can stop using the Service and delete your account. The date at the top of this page shows when the terms were last updated.
21. General
- Whole agreement. These terms, together with any written agreement you have with us as an event organiser, are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service. If you are a business user, you confirm that you have not relied on any statement that is not set out in them.
- Transfer. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation, for example if Linktwos is sold or restructured. We will tell you if this happens and it will not reduce your rights. You may not transfer your account or your rights to anyone else.
- If part of these terms is not valid. Each part of these terms operates separately. If a court decides that any part is unlawful or cannot be enforced, the rest stays in force.
- Delay in enforcing. If we do not enforce these terms straight away, we can still do so later.
- Other people. Apart from Apple under section 14 and the people named in section 18, no one other than you and us has any right to enforce these terms.
- Language and contact. These terms are in English. We will contact you by email or in the App using the details on your account.
Complaints. If you are unhappy with the Service, email dan@linktwos.com first and give us the chance to put it right. We will try to resolve any dispute with you informally before either of us goes to court.
22. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a business user, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer, the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, and if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
